Post A Sleeper in our Midst?
Quote:
An Army psychiatrist opened fire Thursday at Fort Hood, Texas, killing 12 people and wounding 30 others before being shot to death, officials told NBC News.

Eleven of the victims died at the scene, military officials said. A 12th died later at a hospital, NBC station KCEN-TV of Waco reported.

NBC News’ Pete Williams reported that U.S. officials identified the gunman as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan

It's quite obvious this man was a sleeper for the radical Islamic movement. I, for one, am glad he was killed. I hope it was extremely painful for him.

The Army, and all of the Armed Forces, should begin immediate investigations into all the "ragheads" that are enlisted. They simply cannot be trusted.

Update: He isn't dead. The shooter was shot four times, but IS expected to live.

Yowch, John. All "ragheads?" Really?

Did you say the same thing about "all white people" when Tim McVeigh bombed OK city? Or "all Asian people" after the NIU shooting? If not, I'd like to know why you think this is different.

Not that I know what I'm talking about, but from what I'm reading on the news, seems like it's pointing more towards a clinical mental breakdown than a long-time infiltrating "sleeper".

Religion is the filter through which a lot of mental problems manifest themselves. I wouldn't blame an entire religion or race of people for this shooting, any more than I'd blame the guns he used.

Like I said, they simply can't be trusted.
The guy was yelling Allahu Akbar. How many more muslims are going to break and become religious zealots? And start shooting up the place?

They simply can't be trusted.

Z sez: "I wouldn't blame an entire religion or race of people for this shooting, any more than I'd blame the guns he used."

I don't blame all Muslims. However, their lack of significant outrage against the Islamo-fascists, and, in SOME cases, celebrating their acts of terrorism (NOT "man-made disasters") do give me cause for concern. How is this guy any different from the homicide bombers of the Islamo-fascists?

"Cause for concern" is one thing. Labeling an entire race/religion due to the actions of a few is another.

And I know -- stereotypes are there for a reason. So I'll re-ask my question:

To answer your question, no, I didn't.
Called me bigoted but I just don't trust any Muslims.

John, way to leave no doubt. You are a bigot. At least you are self aware. Nothing more to be said really.

I'm not alone in this sentiment. Have you read all the other posts on story chats about this incident? There are a lot of people out there who think Hasan is a terrorist sleeper. And evidence is beginning to mount to prove that.

Note also how many views this topic has had but with no addtional posts from the 3000+ members on this forum.

Silence can be deafening.

RE: (Did you say the same thing about "all white people" when Tim McVeigh bombed OK city? Or "all Asian people" after the NIU shooting? )

If "all white people" had a pattern of mass killings, while screaming "God is Great!", it might apply. But, I haven't seen any Methodist suicide bombers, any Baptists killing unbelievers, or any Lutherans cutting the heads off their captives. Please let me know when it happens, so I can agree with you.

To continue in the same vein as Snuss's post above, during WWII Japanese people in this country were put in interrment camps. Because we weren't sure we could trust them. The same should really apply today. To a greater extent I believe. Where is the Muslim outrage over what a "few extremists" are doing today?

Once again, silence can be deafening.

Shocked

Another thought occured to me about this. McVeigh was part of a para-military "militia". I agree that they should be watched. And they are, I'm sure. He just happened to slip through the cracks.

Re: The Japanese Internment camps. Some of those who were interned were American-born citizens. THAT should not have happened, under our Constitution.

I'd have to say that a majority of those who were interned were not a threat to this country, and should not have been interned, without probable cause.

I'd also bet that there were at least a few German-Americans and Italian-Americans who should have been interned, but were not.
